In 450 BC, Kimon, the legendary ancient Greek military strategist, led an expedition of 200 triremes to liberate Cyprus from the Persians.

In 2026 AD, Greece deploys its most advanced frigates, including the first Belharra-class model named "Kimon," to bolster Cyprus’ defense amid the modern threat of Iranian missiles and drones.

In 450 BC, Kimon successfully besieged the city of Kition, but he tragically died during the blockade, either from illness or a wound.

What will be the destiny of the modern namesake, the pride of the Greek fleet?

"History doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes."
