How my 16yo daughter can cause the resignation of Google's CEO!

Google has the best business model ever invented in the history of capitalism. Still, sooner or later, competition becomes challenging. So in those times, competent leadership is needed!

On January 20th, 2023 Alphabet lays off 12,000 people from its workforce, after reporting a 2022 annual EBITDA of $90.77B, with a just 0.42% decline from the historical mega year 2021!

On February 6th, 2023, Sundar Pichai, introduced Bard, the competitor of chatGTP, as a bit of a disaster, poorly received by the markets with two day accumulated drop of Alphabet's stock of 12%.

Recently, with my teenage daughter, we were using chatGPT-3 as an assistant for one of her school exercises. chatGPT-3 is an excellent tool for generating meaningless non-scientific text, which some boring school exercises require. (I'm always in favor of automation for boring procedures, leaving precious time for physical experiences and creativity)

During our experiment, she proposed a simple one-2-one competition between chatGPT-3 and google search about the following question:

"what is heavier, one kilo of gold or one kilo of cotton?"

The results are really eloquent regarding the two tools' capabilities and especially the google engine "confusion".

Perhaps that search result, combined with this year Sundar's performance, could be one more reason for his resignation (! ! !)

P.S. That chatGTP-3 experiment, led to a few lessons for my daughter and the youth:

If you are looking for websites, ask google,
if you are looking for texts, ask chatGTP-3,
if you are looking for answers, travel the world,
if you are looking for happiness, find good companionship,
if you are looking for the truth, ask yourself!
