We’ve all seen it before:
First it was PowerPoint.
Then Dashboards.
Then "agile."
Now it’s AI prompts and "AI strategy."
In the last couple of years, I have either been informed of or witnessed firsthand numerous executives and managers with little actual contribution to their organizations suddenly reinventing themselves as "AI visionaries":
🚩 Proclaiming that every task is "easy with AI"
🚩 Evangelizing their "holy" AI prompts
🚩 Boasting they can "do in minutes what once took days"
🚩 Pushing vague mandates that the company must be "AI-centric"
. . . all while not having a clue about LLM, ML, DL, NLP, RL, AGI . . .
🚨 The danger isn’t AI itself—it’s the illusion of mastery.
When leaders oversell tools they don’t understand, they risk:
📍 Setting impossible expectations
📍 Undermining the actual experts
📍 Burning trust inside the organization
💡 AI is powerful. But it’s not magic.
💡 And leadership isn’t about playing god with the latest toy—it’s about creating the conditions where real value can emerge.
💡Companies don’t need "AI messiahs", but rather thoughtful leaders who combine humility, understanding, vision and execution.
